If you are itching to dust off those mountain bikes and hiking shoes, you wait is almost over! Deer Valley Resort will open its full-time summer operations beginning June 18 and running through Sept. 6, with three additional weekends after that on Fridays-Sundays through Sept. 26.  During the 2021 summer season the chairlifts will run 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The Sundance Film Festival has announced the dates for its 2022 edition, which will take place in-person and online in a hybrid format.

The festival will return to Park City, Utah, from January 20-30, 2022.

“We can’t wait to return to Park City, Salt Lake City — and beyond — for next year’s Sundance Film Festival,” the organization announced Thursday. “The 2022 Festival will take place in-person and online January 20-30. We are in the process of designing a safe and accessible Festival where our audiences and artists can come together to celebrate and discover new work, and each other. Mark your calendars and stay tuned: This summer we will have more details to help you craft your plan and arrange for any travel.”

In an effort to work towards their goal of "Epic for Everyone" and honor current season pass holders, Vail Resort has announced reduction of ALL pass prices by 20% in the company's North American region. The Epic Local Pass is now available for $583 (down from $729 last season) and the full Epic Pass is priced at $783 (down from $979 last season).

Historically speaking, inventory levels for both residences and land across the Greater Park City Real Estate Market (Areas 1 to 23) have hovered around 2100 units through the ski season of  January - April ; peaking in the summer months of August to September to around 2300 units.  This year however, that trend was broken as inventory levels continued to fall, dropping to below 1800 units only five time in the past eight years and to 955 the lowest number of listings in the past 8 years; over 47% lower than the previous record.

Robert Redford is selling the Sundance Mountain Resort, the Provo Canyon ski destination the actor, filmmaker and environmental activist opened in 1969. Redford reached an agreement to sell the 2.600 acre resort to Broadreach Capital Partners and Cedar Capital Partners.  Redford announced the sale to employees on Friday.  Though the resort has been Redford’s Utah home for more than a half-century, it also “created a lot of weight for me to be carrying around,” he told The Salt Lake Tribune this week, ahead of Friday’s announcement. “I had been searching for years for the right people to take it to the next level, so that I could take that weight off my shoulders and enjoy my life.”
