The 2017 Park City Turkey Drive | Give Hunger the Bird!

Posted by Negar Chevre on Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 at 7:12am.

Did you know that 1 in 7 children go to bed hungry in the State of Utah? The annual Turkey Drive in Park City organized by none other than the one and only Deb Hartley of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, began 16 years ago with the goal that first year to collect 65 turkeys to feed families in need during Thanksgiving.  As of the last Turkey Drive in 2016, thanks to the generosity of the Park City community and tens of wonderful volunteers, the annual Turkey Drive has provided Thanksgiving dinner to over 150,000 people and stocked the Park City Food Bank Pantry with thousands of pounds of nonperishable foods.

This years goal is to collect 2,500 turkeys which will provide Thanksgiving dinner to over 15,000 people.  If you think that hunger doesn't effect our small town, think again! This year the food pantry has a list of 850 Parkites and residents of Wasatch County that have signed up for a holiday bird for Thanksgiving.

The annual Turkey Drive is only one of the many reasons that makes our small town one of the best places on earth to live in.  Let us come together again this year to help Deb and her volunteer team.  Let us demonstrate our generosity by providing a turkey for a family in need.  The need continues to be great and hunger knows no boundaries.  Help us "give hunger the bird" and donate at www.parkcityturkeydrive.info where you will find a portal to the Turkey Drive paypal account making it super easy to donate.

You will find Deb and her helpers this Thursday and Friday November 16th and 17th 2017 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM in front of the Market in Park City.  Visit them, open your wallet and bring joy to someone else's life!
