August 21st, 2017 | Deer Valley Resorts to be acquired by newly formed resort company and joined with Intrawest, Mammoth Resorts and Squaw Valley Ski Holdings.  The newly formed entity controlled by affiliates of KSL Capital Partners, LLC and Henry Crown and Company that in July joined Intrawest Resorts Holdings, Inc., Mammoth Resorts and Squaw Valley Ski Holdings today announced, with Deer Valley Resort, that they have entered into a definitive agreement for the newly formed entity to acquire Deer Valley Resort.  Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  The transaction is subject to certain closing conditions and is anticipated to close prior to the upcoming 2017-18 ski season.

The Park City Kimball Arts Festival takes place on Historic Main Street and serves as the primary fundraiser for the Kimball Art Center each year. Park City Bike Share

It's not every day that you get to boast about living in the coolest city on earth! As if Park City isn't an incredible place to live in to begin with; now we can add e-bike sharing to one of many other firsts!  On Wednesday July 19th, 2017, Park City celebrated the launch of the nation's first fully electric bike share program.  “We want to thank all the people who worked on this and acknowledge the voters who have consistently demonstrated their desire for more environmentally friendly options," said Carolyn Rodriquez Summit County's Transportation Planning Director who spearheaded the effort.

PARK CITY, UT (July 7, 2017) – Park City Mayor Jack Thomas and City Council announced today a major new initiative to solidify Park City’s rich history of arts and culture. On July 13 and 20, the Park City Council will consider approval of a purchase agreement for a 5.25-acre parcel in the City’s Bonanza Park neighborhood for $19.5 million to form the City’s first-ever Arts & Culture District, with Sundance Institute and the Kimball Art Center as anchor partners. Park City plans to impose a one-percent transient room (lodging) tax to pay for the initial land purchase and development of the site. Each June Parkites, foodies and food critics alike join Park City's longest dining table during Savor the Summit's - The Grande Table event. On June 17th, 2017, one long dinner table will once again grace the length of Main Street, allowing over 1500 diners to join in celebration of fabulous food, outdoor dining, live music, and summer in the mountains.

STATE OF OUR MARKET

According to the Park City Board of Realtors, the number of closed sales for the first quarter of 2017 in Summit and Wasatch Counties was the highest we’ve seen since 2007 – up 20% over 2016. Q1 also saw the highest number of pended sales on record. In addition, there was a 26% increase over the previous year in total dollar volume. Growth continued to morph, and expand, encompassing outlying communities in the Wasatch Back as the entire market area was pushed to new peak levels.
